Purpose: This service is designed ONLY for unexpected prescription needs between scheduled appointments.
Eligibility:
- Child is an existing patient of Kids Clinic
- Child must have been seen by the Paediatrician within the last 2-3 months.
- A future appointment with the Paediatrician must be already booked.
- A valid referral is required before a prescription can be issued (Check with admin staff).
Fees: A $50 gap fee will be charged for the script requested between appointments due to increased administrative demands.
Processing Time: The Paediatrician will aim to process your request within 1-5 business days.
Prescription Duration: In most cases, the script will be written to cover medication needs until the next scheduled appointment.
For restricted medications: You must have less than 2 weeks' supply remaining (a government requirement) before the paediatrician can get another approval.
Important Considerations: Please carefully review this policy to avoid incorrect orders, as refunds cannot be provided. Sometimes, a script may not be immediately offered, as the paediatrician may need to discuss this further.
Follow-Up: If you do not receive a response within the specified timeframe, please follow up with a phone call or email.
Note: Our Paediatricians always recommend scheduling appointments at the end of each visit to monitor the response and side effects of the medication and provide repeat scripts. Please also note that medication prescribed by the paediatrician should be monitored closely by the parent or guardian.
